Montserrat Herrero, professor of Philosophy politics at the School of Philosophy y Letras, has presented her book "Ficciones políticas. The echo of Thomas Hobbes in the twilight of modernity".

The work, which theorizes about the modern state, aims to offer an explanation of some current issues such as the political as an artificial realm, the consideration of the neighbor as a potential enemy, political freedom, the relationship between religion and politics, and conscientious objection.

At the same time, the book analyzes the resonance of Hobbesian ideas in contemporary political argumentation by relating key issues of today's world, such as the topic of surveillance and security or that of the neighbor, among others.
