The Science Museum of the University of Navarra has screened, at the request of some institutions from different cities, some finalist films from previous editions of #LabMeCrazy! Science Film Festival, with the goal to bring science closer to society through cinema.
On November 15 and 16, in Mexico City, as part of the Fiesta de las Ciencias y las Humanities organized by the Universidad Autónoma de México (UNAM), "Odisea del océano" and "Las leyes del Serengueti" were screened to the public.
Bienvenido León, director of the #LabMeCrazy! festival highlighted that these screenings have once again highlighted the great capacity of cinema to communicate science in a way that is understandable and exciting for anyone, regardless of their previous scientific knowledge . "It has been very nice to see people of all ages getting excited about these masterpieces."
For his part, Pedro Sierra, Deputy Director of Audiovisual Production of the General Administration of knowledge dissemination of Science of the UNAM, has pointed out the good reception that the screenings of #LabMeCrazy! have had and wanted to highlight the strategic alliance of the two scientific institutions (University of Navarra and Autonomous University of Mexico) "to contribute to the development of a scientific culture through the documentary of science content".
On the other hand, and also in November, the Museum of Human Evolution in Burgos organized a cycle of documentaries for the general public with some #LabMeCrazy! films ("Nuclear Now"; "Carbon, the unauthorized biography" and "The Serengeti Rules").
