In a matter of hours, what was an idea for a solidarity action to address the status situation of the people in Ukraine became tangible with the virtual degree program "Let's run for Ukraine". Promoted by five students of the School of speechof the University of Navarra and the Sports Serviceand in coordination with association Hambre Cero, the virtualdegree program , which can be run between 14 and 20 March, aims to raise the 24,000 euros needed to send donations to those affected by the war.

The initiative began when the students decided to contact Álvaro Cuadrado, founder of Hambre Cero, an NGO that had sent a truck with 24 tonnes of humanitarian financial aid to the city of Lviv, located in western Ukraine, some 70 kilometres from the Polish border. However, Zero Hunger has another six trucks with 300 tonnes of material and donations to send, which are blocked from travelling, as there are insufficient funds for their mobilisation.

Six trucks of humanitarian financial aid

With the possibility of being able to follow the degree program from anywhere in the world, in order to take part it will be necessary to buy a dorsal (which costs ten euros) through the Rock The Sport application. This allows you to set the number of kilometres you wish to run, which can be done from Monday 14 March until Sunday 20. You can also contribute with the Fila 0 option, where you do not need to run the degree program.

The students behind the initiative are Rosa Elías, Lucas Vicuña, César González, Julia Franch, Jon Ramos and Carolina García. The amount contributed by "Let's Run for Ukraine" will be used entirely for the mobilisation of the six financial aid humanitarian trucks of Hambre Cero, which will leave Arganda del Rey (Madrid) and will travel 3,641 kilometres to reach the refugee camps on the Ukrainian border (located on both sides of the advance of the Russian army).
