Pint of Science 2018: science "takes over" Pamplona's bars

The 2018 edition of the international competition Pint of Science -promoted in 2012 with the goal to bring science to society in a fun and interesting way- comes to Pamplona next May 14, 15 and 16 by the hand of Planetarium, Navarrabiomed, University of Navarra and Public University of Navarra, coordinated by the Friends of Science Club.

In the usual relaxed format of a talk "among friends" open to all audiences, the first quotation will take place at Chester Gastro cafeteria (calle Olite 8) on Monday 14 at 8 pm. María Jesús García Granda -from Navarrabiomed- will talk about Immunotherapy. After her, Fernando Jáuregui, from the Pamplona Planetarium, will invite the attendees to observe, from their tables and benches, what "The dark sky of the Pyrenees" is like.

On Tuesday 15th the turn will be for the University of Navarra and its Biomimicry proje cts. From 8 p.m. at cafeteria Bahía (3 García Ca stañón St.), profes sors César Martí n-Gómez and Amaia Zuazua (from the University of Navarra) and Rafael Miranda ( of Sciences) will explain how bees, tuna or elephants can revolutionize the way we live. Finally, on Wednesday 16 also at 8 p.m. in Zentral Pamplona (Santo Domingo Market) the competition will close with a talk on renewable energies of the future, with researchers from the Public University of Navarra Leire Catalán, Alberto Berrueta and Pablo Sanchís.

The entrance is free, without prior confirmation and only requires interest in chatting about science topics in the relaxed atmosphere of a cafeteria.

Pint of Science is being held this year simultaneously in 56 Spanish cities.
