Lucia García and Óscar Matheus have been elected, respectively, student representative and vice-representative of the School of Science for the 2022–23 academic year. About 50 students participated in the vote; they are members of the various class councils for each Degree Biology/Environmental Sciences, Chemistry Biochemistry .
Lucía García Recaredo (21 years old, Zaragoza) is a 4th year student of Biochemistry . She takes the challenge as a great responsibility that she also hopes to enjoy and intends to be close to her classmates to better represent them. "That any project or idea that someone has is heard and worked on, trying to make people see that things can change, or at least be tried". Lucia hopes to work hand in hand with Oscar and the rest of the delegates to further empower School from her position. "To be able to be there for whatever plans the people of the School need, and to be the voice of change among the general university community and our own School".
Óscar Ignacio Matheus (24 years old, Venezuela) is a 4th year Biology and Science and Business Program student. He believes he can be the link between the body professor and the students of School to solve conflicts that may arise and to elevate the proposals of fellow students. "It's an opportunity both to drive change and to preserve the essence and values of the university." Oscar's main task is going to be to listen to his colleagues in order to convey their ideas, as well as to improve communication with other Schools. "I am committed to do my best to promote a university spirit focused on multidisciplinarity".
