36 Cervantists from 10 countries participate in the University of Navarra in the International congress "Quixotic and Cervantes recreations in the arts". The meeting, organized by the group of research Siglo de Oro (GRISO) of the academic center and the Groupe de recherche sur la Civilisation et la Littérature Espagnoles du Siècle d'Or (CLESO) of the Université de Toulouse-Le Mirail, is held in tribute to Dominique Reyre, on the occasion of her retirement as professor of literature of the Golden Age at the Université de Toulouse-Le Mirail.

The congress was inaugurated today with a master class at position by Dr. Reyre, on "Cerv-antes and his jubil-ant names. Secrets of a festive writing". The plenary lectures of the congress will be given by Jean Canavaggio (Université de Paris Ouest Nanterre), on "The humanism of Cervantes"; José Manuel Lucía Megías (Universidad Complutense de Madrid / association de Cervantistas), on "Cervantes and Don Quixote: a shared iconography"; and Christoph Strosetzki (Universität Münster), with the degree scroll "The legitimacy of Don Quixote".

The sessions of congress are completed with 32 presentations on various topics related to Don Quixote and other Cervantine works (especially in their relationship with the arts: painting, sculpture, music, film, comics, etc.), which correspond to researchers from ten countries (Spain, Germany, France, Norway, United Kingdom, Russia, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and the United States), plus a table of presentation of Cervantine publishing novelties.
