Students from Master's Degree E-MENU attend an international congress in London.

The meeting, organized by the Nutrition Society and the Royal Society of Medicine, addressed the relationship between sleep and heart rate with obesity and metabolic diseases.

Professors and students of the EuropeanMaster's Degree in Food, Nutrition and Metabolism (E-MENU) of the School of Pharmacy attended an international congress organized by the Nutrition Society and the Royal Society of Medicine of the United Kingdom held in London on December 8 and 9.

Under the degree scroll Roles of sleep and circadian rhythms in the origin and nutritional management of obesity and metabolic diseasethe attendees participated in several lectures and oral communications on the health triad "sleep, heart rhythms and metabolism", the duration and quality of sleep linked to body weight, the relationship between heart rate and glucose metabolism or the frequency and schedule of meals linked to health and disease, among other topics. Among the main conclusions of congress is the fact that shorter sleep duration and poorer sleep quality are related to a higher incidence of obesity.

Participation in international congresses is a tradition at E-MENU, as it is part of its characteristic International Framework, one of the reasons why this postgraduate program is considered the best in Spain in the area of Food and Veterinary Medicine, according to the last ranking of postgraduate courses prepared by the newspaper El Mundo. This ranking highlighted of this Master's Degree the possibility of the realization of the work End of Master's Degree in national and international institutions. In addition, 40% of its students are international.
