Dr. Marta Ferrer, dean of the School of Medicine and specialist of the department of Allergology and Clinical Immunology of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, has received the "Clemens Von Pirquet", awarded by the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Clínica Universidad de Navarrahas received the award "Clemens Von Pirquet", award awarded by the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology and considered the most prestigious award in the field of research in its specialization program.

Dr. Ferrer, who is also a member of the Clinic's Management committee , is a recognized expert in the research of the mechanisms of urticaria and angioedema, as well as adjuvants in immunotherapy. This award recognizes her contribution in this field, which has served to advance new treatments that have changed the lives of patients with these conditions.

"I am very grateful to all the colleagues who created the Clinic's Allergology department and also especially to Dr. Allen Kaplan, with whom I worked in the United States. And, above all, I am grateful to the Clinic for encouraging and facilitating this model of attendance, teaching and research", said Dr. Ferrer. The specialist also expressed her satisfaction with the national development of Allergology: "I am very happy for allergists. It is a recognition of a specialization program that in Spain is of a high clinical level". 

After graduating in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Zaragoza and completing her specialization program at Clínica Universidad de Navarra, Dr. Ferrer completed her training at the State University of New York before joining the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Ferrer is also an External Examiner for the Allergy MSc Program at Imperial College London and a Fellow of the Harvard Macy Institute at School Harvard University Medical School.
