ICN experts present research in Dublin at the 13th European Nutrition Congress congress

The city of Dublin hosted in October the XIII European Nutrition congress carried out by the Federation of European Nutrition Societies (FENS). Drs. Itziar Abete and Alfredo Martínez participated in the meeting , accompanied by Dr. Cristina Galarregui and Dr. Bertha Araceli Marín. Galarregui presented the discussion paper "Association between diet quality indicators and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease: The FLiO study" and Marín presented the poster "Depressive symptoms and liver fat in subjects with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease after 6-month weight loss intervention: The FLiO study."

The research center in Nutrition (CIN) also presented two other posters entitled"Association between triglyceride glucose-body mass index and risk factors linked to non-alcoholic liver disease in subjects with metabolic syndrome", presented by Itziar Abete, and "Adiposity and dyslipidaemia are associated with epigenetic age acceleration", presented by Alfredo Martínez.

This congress takes place every 4 years and is the leading European meeting in its field attracting more than 2,500 delegates, not only from the 26 affiliated European countries, but from a global platform with more than 50 countries represented, as well as from a range of European and international partner groups and societies. On this occasion the main theme topic was malnutrition in an obese world, and the European perspectives on current nutritional problems in developed countries.

The scientific program featured international speakers and a broad program of thematic areas across the entire spectrum of Nutrition Science in plenary and parallel session formats where different topics have been covered such as life cycle determinants and determinants, methods of assessment and new technologies, current metabolic perspectives, the food environment, and current and emerging issues, from different branches such as Genetics, molecular biology, metabolism, epidemiology or policy.
