Professionals from the Premier League, Osasuna and Real Sociedad will address the latest trends in sports nutrition at workshop at the University.

On the occasion of World Food Day, the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition organizes this meeting on Friday, October 14th.

The School of Pharmacy and Nutrition of the University of Navarra has organized this Friday, October 14 a workshop of sports nutrition that will address the latest trends in this field, to purpose of World Food Day to be held on Sunday 16.

"As part of the programs of study of Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, the School offers its students the possibility of doing an elective pathway focused on the peculiarities of nutrition in the field of Physical Exercise and Sport," explains Dr. Alberto Pérez-Mediavilla, manager of the workshop. "As a culmination of this training, we want to offer our students the possibility of obtaining experiences from accredited professionals working in the field of sports nutrition framework . We also want these meetings to be of interest to people dedicated to nutrition and to the general public".

Thus, over four hours, will be given quotation at the University of Navarra leading specialists such as Dr. Chris Curtis, Senior Associate Professor Sports Nutrition and Exercise Physiology and Consultant Performance Nutritionist of Crystal Palace FC in the Premier League. Also participating will be specialists who work in different areas of Spanish sport, such as Dr. Jesús Bernardo, medical nutritionist and CEO of the Nutrition, Food and Metabolism Unit (Avilés) and Araceli Llerandi, director of the same Unit; Virginia Santesteban, manager
nutritionist at Real Sociedad de Fútbol; and Aitor Ugalde, nutritionist at CA Osasuna.

Among the topics to be addressed are energy capacity in female athletes, infrared thermography applied to sports nutrition and nutrition in the daily life of La Liga soccer teams.

The registration to the workshop has a cost of 20 euros and can be made through this form of registration.
