"I started my internship at FAES Farma a few months ago. At that time, I felt like a little fish in an ocean without knowing exactly what direction to take", confesses Saioa Atutxa, a graduate in Pharmacy from the University of the Basque Country (UPV) and student of the 2nd year of the Master's Degree in design Galenic and Manufacturing in the Pharmaceutical Industry (MDGFI) of the School Pharmacy and Nutrition, who is currently in her year of paid internships. "The days have gone by and thanks to the companionship of my team and the theoretical basisinternship obtained during the first year of Master's Degree, I have been able to take the course of this new stage as a professional in the pharmaceutical industry". 

Saioa carries out her work in the pilot plant of the business which, "although at first glance it may seem a small department , it has a great deal of activity and potential", which allows her to train with a complete profile . "At the beginning of the internship, I focused more on documentation. In fact, my first responsibility was to take care of all the notebooks we had in the pilot plant. I went through them all from top to bottom and that's where I realised that, what can often seem like a simple notebook, is the basis for everything project to be developed".

"Today I am still training, with new equipment from the pilot plant, participating from FAT to putting it into use. I am also in the process of accreditation for clinical trials (I have already participated in two of them so far), and I have carried out validations, I have minor equipment at my position and I am developing a method for in-process control of a pharmaceutical form," he explains. "And, of course, I review, update and create new notebooks.

So far, this professional experience has allowed Saioa to glimpse the potential of a professional degree program in the industry. "Both the teachers and my colleagues at FAES make this small galenic company a little bigger with each passing day".
