"What I like most about my work is being able to help people who don't know how to feed themselves and to debunk nutritional myths and 'magic' diets''', confesses Marta Benítez. A graduate in Nutrition from the Fernando Pessoa University of the Canary Islands, she completed the EuropeanMaster's Degree in Food, Nutrition and Metabolism (EMENU) in 2021.

subject She currently works in the Nutrition and Dietetics Service of the San José Hospital in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, a job she combines with the nutritional enquiry in a gym: "I visit enquiry for all kinds of people: lipedema, people with obesity, athletes, coeliacs, people who want to learn how to eat correctly and be healthier...".

However, she explains that her job as a nutrition professional is not only to improve patients' weight or body composition, but also to help them feel more comfortable in their daily lives, rest better and have more vitality, for example. "In addition to teaching them how to eat and carrying out anthropometries, I provide them with a nutritional plan and a weekly shopping list, as organisation is essential for them to improve their diet.

She says that studying the Master's Degree of the School in Pharmacy and Nutrition has given her greater objectivity and scientific rigour in her day-to-day work: "It has taught me how to keep up to date in the field of nutrition, which is very important, especially in a new and multi-faceted field, and then apply it every day at enquiry".
