70 students from 14 schools in the region participate in the III History Olympiad

The activity is organized by the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University.

70 students of 4th of ESO, 1st and 2nd of ESO, from 14 schools of Navarra, were last Saturday at the high school diplomafrom 14 schools in Navarra, were last Saturday at the campus of the University of Navarra to compete in the III History Olympiad. The proposed topic was: "The era of imperialism" and the question of the test, which could be done in Spanish, Basque or English: "How did colonialism affect native societies?" "Nola eragin zuen kolonialismoak gizarte sorterrietan?" "How did colonialism affect native societies?" The students had two hours to develop it.

The students came from the following schools in Pamplona: San Francisco Javier, Calasanz-Escolapios, El Redín-Miravalles, IES Basoko, Hijas de Jesús, IES Julio Caro Baroja, IES place de la Cruz, Liceo Monjardín, Nuestra Señora del Huerto, Santo Tomás (Dominicas) and Vedruna. From the capital of La Ribera: IES Benjamín de Tudela. Also present were from high school Luis Amigó, from Mutilva leave; IES Tierra Estella and IES Marqués de Villena, from Caparroso.

The III History Olympiad, organized by the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra, has as goal to put in contact students and teachers of History of secondary and high school diploma of educational centers of the Foral Community with the university academic community, in order to give a greater prominence to the programs of study of non-university History, through a competition between students who stand out for their interest in the subject.

The test is co-organized by the department of History, Art History and Geography of the University of Navarra and the Society of programs of study Historians of Navarra(SEHN). The committee organizer is formed by teachers from teaching secondary schools, as well as a representative of the University of Navarra and another from the SEHN and counts with the sponsorship of Alianza publishing house, Troa Librerías and Diario de Navarra. 

The awards will be presented on Friday, April 29 at the University of Navarra.
