What can students expect from Career Services at School?

The Career Services Service has as goal to accompany student in the process of searching for professional opportunities. We work from the first year in group orientation activities, which explore the process of professional self-knowledge and development , as well as another subject of individual orientation activities (from 3rd year onwards). On the other hand, we give sessions of training to learn how to elaborate a CV, cover letter, selection processes etc. On the other hand, we work on attracting companies from different sectors to the University so that students can learn about the different options in the labor market. In final, we provide students with tools to develop their professional degree program from the first year.

How can students prepare themselves professionally during their training university studies?

In addition to the knowledge that they will acquire during the degree program, it is important that they do another subject of "extra" activities to improve their professional skills. Nowadays, companies are not only looking for technical knowledge; one of the great challenges for companies today is to find candidates who meet a more competency-based profile: they are looking for candidates with attitude and a series of professional competencies. For this reason, it is important that students work on self-knowledge from the first year in order to be able to develop competencies throughout the four years of degree program.

Are internships important for entry into the labor market?

Undoubtedly, internships are an excellent gateway to entrance the labor market for many reasons. First of all, because it is a good way to get to know the possible employment opportunities of Degree, it also allows to develop professional skills and competences and of course, it allows to create a network of contacts (networking) essential for the professional future.

Where can economics students do their internships?

On the portal of employment of CS there is a varied offer of internship positions for economics students. The opportunities are very varied. From consultancy service, marketing, banking, finance. In Career Services we work on attracting internship opportunities and employment for students of the University of Navarra.
