The School of Architecture of the University of Navarra has paid tribute to the Portuguese architect Joao Alvaro Rocha, who died at the age of 55 on September 16 after months of fighting a tumor process. The professor, who was professor at the center for 16 years, was a lover of Pamplona and Navarra where he taught hundreds of architects.
During the tribute ceremony that took place at the classroom Magna of the School, many were those who wanted to remember Joao Alvaro Rocha. Among them, José Manuel Gigante, who was Rocha's friend and partner for many years, his wife and the School's teacher José Manuel Pozo, Rocha's colleague during his time at the School. Images of his time at the School were also projected on the quotation , accompanied by some phrases that will remain on the report of all those who had the good fortune to participate in some of his classes.
Joao Alvaro Rocha, although he did not build in Navarra, demonstrated a great commitment to his society as shown by his proposal for the Museo del Encierro, which despite not being the chosen one, was the most voted by the readers of Diario de Navarra. In the School he also left a great mark among those who knew him, highlighting his constant work and his ability to carry the projects to the end of his stage of development.
His work and bequest can be consulted in his web page staff, where his most relevant projects are shown and which will remain forever as a reflection of his work and personality.
