The Master's Degree in Banking and Financial Regulation of the School of Economics hosted last November 10 the workshop on the Second Payment Services Directive, PSD2 for its acronym in English. A topic that unites both academic and financial industry interests.

This Workshop was attended by speakers of international stature, including the Deputy Head of Division - Market Integration of the European Central Bank (ECB) and professor at Master's Degree in Banking and Financial Regulation, Francisco Tur; and the partner of strategy of financial companies of PwC, Raquel Garcés.

In his discussion paper, Tur explained the work carried out by the ECB for the full implementation of PSD2, commenting on the most relevant practical aspects that banks will have to face. Garcés, for his part, focused his exhibition on the challenges and opportunities involved in the implementation of PSD2.

The implementation of the aforementioned Directive will lead to a revolution in all electronic payment platforms, new mobile banking services and fintech companies, or solutions offered by ERPs or enterprise software management in the cloud.

After both presentations, the roundtable began with questions from both the students of Master's Degree and part of the 85 workshop attendees from consultancy service, banking, government agencies and other consumer sectors interested in PSD2.
