Laura Arzoz (ECO'92) is awarded the award Empresaria Navarra 2018

The award, organized by the association of Women Entrepreneurs and Managers of Navarra, seeks to make visible and highlight the professional career of women entrepreneurs.

Laura Arzoz, General Manager of Distribuidora Navarra de Pinturas (Disnapin) and former student of the School of Economics of the University of Navarra, has been distinguished with the award Empresaria Navarra 2018, organized by the association de Mujeres Empresarias y Directivas de Navarra (Amedna). A award that seeks to make visible and highlight the professional career of women entrepreneurs and managers who develop their daily work in the economic and social sphere of Navarra.

The Vice President of the Government of Navarra, Manuel Ayerdi, and the Regional Director of Navarra of CaixaBank, Ana Díez Fontana, were in charge of submit the award which this year celebrates its twenty-first edition.

During the act of submission, the president of AMEDNA, María Victoria Vidaurre, stated that "our award winners serve as an example not only as women of business, but also as a value of business" and insisted that "the positioning of women in the workplace is not an issue to be solved in our system and our Economics: it is the solution". 

Likewise, Vidaurre added that "women in our country manage more than 430,000 small businesses". "That ground 'won' with effort cannot be undermined by the absence of support in an unfavorable economic context", Vidaurre said, stressing that "if support measures are not articulated, SMEs will continue in the best of cases to survive, but not generating growth and employment, a employment of quality and continuity".

For her part, Laura Arzoz (ECO'92) recalled her beginnings in the family business founded in 1969 by José María Arzoz, and how she took the reins of DISNAPIN and modified it to build three points of sale throughout the Comunidad Foral. Arzoz pointed out that his goal is "to build a business with deep values and where everyone feels well cared for and can leave our stores with a smile on their face".
