The ceremony, presided over by the Dean of the School of Nursing, Ana Choperena, served to thank the generosity of those who, from anonymity, make it possible for new generations to access university training of excellence.

During her speech, Dean Choperena highlighted the silent but transformative work of donors, underlining the importance of support to continue offering opportunities to talented and vocational students:

"Their generosity has been discreet, silent and in the shadows. Paradoxically, this discretion has contributed to generate light sources that develop their work as nurses in all corners of the world and that transmit this"way of being" and"way of doing", which they have acquired thanks to you".

The Alumni Scholarships Alumni Scholarships is inspired by the desire of St. Josemaría Escrivá, founder of the University, that no young person should be excluded from studying at the University of Navarra for financial reasons. The scholarships are intended for students who demonstrate academic and staff commitment, and are made possible thanks to the contributions of alumni, companies, friends of the University and collaborating institutions. A gesture of generosity that promotes the training of future generations of, in this case, nurses.

Lydia de Dios, a former student and nurse at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra, who has been a donor to the program since she received her first salary, commented: "I firmly believe that we must offer opportunities to young people with talent and great potential. This talent must be taken to excellence, because their training will have an impact on the society of the future, not only in the professional field, but also in the staff. My contribution is a small grain of sand with which I hope to contribute to a better society, and I am very pleased to be able to do so."

Currently, 19 students from the School of Nursing are benefiting from the program. Two of them, Mandila Achyara (4th year) and Naiara Lezaun (1st year), shared their experiences in a roundtable. Naiara thanked those present:

"There are many people who have inspired me and made me want to be a good person, professional and nurse. Along with my family, you here today have given me the opportunity to be one. Thank you for allowing me to be part of this other way of being and doing. Thank you very much and happy 70th birthday to this School that grows more and more every day."

Mandila, who is nearing the end of her university studies, recalled the road she has traveled and the importance of the support she has received: "It is not only thanks to my efforts that I have been able to get this far. It has been the result of the sacrifice and courage of my parents, who left everything they had behind in search of a better future for their family. But dreams alone are sometimes not enough. You need people who believe in you and give you that push when you need it most. And that's where you come in. Thanks to your generosity I can be here today. Scholarships are not just financial aid , they are an open door to new possibilities, a vote of confidence in the talent and determination of us students."

The School reaffirmed its commitment to this subject of initiative, which unites those who believe in the transforming power of Education with those who make care a life vocation.
