The School of Communication at the University of Navarra has established its committee advisor, an advisory body composed of eleven professionals and academics of recognized national and international standing. The committee with the mission statement attend School’s leadership team by providing strategic guidance and expert advice on core topic issues core topic its development to strengthen the institution’s connection with society.
“Having a group professionals and academics of this caliber represents an extraordinary opportunity for the School and a tremendous responsibility. Their expert insight and diverse, global experience will help us make better decisions, anticipate the challenges facing journalism and communication, and continue to train professionals who are prepared to serve society,” said Charo Sádaba, dean of the School.
Eleven leading figures in journalism, Economics the media industry
The committee composed of leading figures from the international community. Among them is economist Joseph E. Stiglitz, award Economics award in Economics and a professor at Columbia University, a pioneer in the analysis of markets with asymmetric information, and former chief economist at the World Bank.
International journalism is represented by Martin Baron, former executive editor of The Washington Post and The Boston Globe, under whose leadership the newsrooms he headed won 18 Pulitzer Prizes; Jaime Abello, director of the Gabo Foundation, founded alongside Nobel laureate Gabriel García Márquez; and Anya Schiffrin, director of the specialization , Media, and Communication specialization Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a global leader in media sustainability and digital regulation.
The publishing house audiovisual and publishing house industry is represented by three prominent figures: Javier Bardají, CEO of Atresmedia Corporación; Fernando Belzunce,publishing house director publishing house group and the driving force behind the digital transformation of its newsrooms; and Carlos Chaguaceda, director communications at the Prado Museum.
The committee is rounded out byNoelia Fernández Arroyo, Head of Emerging Markets for EMEA at Google and recognized as one of Spain’s Top 100 Women Leaders; Robert G. Picard, Professor Emeritus a global authority on Economics , affiliated with the Reuters Institute at the University of Oxford and honorary doctor the University of Navarra; Chantal Delsol, philosopher, historian, and member of the French Academy of Moral and Political Sciences; and Mónica Herrero, former dean of the Faculty and Vice President Communications at the University of Navarra.
A Faculty with an international focus
