The Hall of Degrees of the Campus University of Ceuta hosted, last September 9 and 10, 2021, the IV International Symposium. Fiesta, Art and Literature in borderlands, organized by the group of research TriviUN. Theater, Literature and Visual Culture of the University of Navarra and directed by Silvia Cazalla and José Javier Azanza, members of TriviUN.
The inauguration counted on the interventions of the counselor of Education and Culture, Carlos Rontomé; the dean of the School of Education, Economics and Technology of the University of Granada-Campus Ceuta, María José Aznar; the director of the center UNED Ceuta, Francisco Javier González Vázquez; the director of the high school of programs of study Ceutíes, José Antonio Alarcón; and the director of the group TriviUN, Miguel Zugasti. This was followed by a total of six thematic tables in which the twenty-six speakers of the Symposium were distributed, including TriviUN members Silvia Cazalla, Ana Zúñiga, Covadonga Romero, Miguel Zugasti and Javier Azanza, who discussed about the multiculturalism of Ceuta, the crossbreeding of indigenous and European cultures, the border culture war, the symbolic-emblematic universe, the party and ephemeral art, and literature and theater. To this were added Cultural Activities Office as the visit to the archaeological site of the Caliphate Gate.
The activity was also open to faculty teaching in courses regulated by the Organic Law of Education, as well as to the general public, and was widely covered by the local press.
The celebration of the IV Symposium TriviUN in the Autonomous City of Ceuta gives continuity to the three previous symposia (Pamplona, 2016, 2017 and 2019) and is part of the framework of the project Teatro, fiesta y cultura visual en la monarquía hispánica (ss. XVI-XVIII), granted by the Ministry of Economics and Competitiveness (MINECO), Subdirección General de Proyectos de research. reference letter: FFI2017-86801-P.
