The School of Architecture launches a Degree in programs of study of Architecture to respond to the new demands of the profession.

The degree program will reinforce the internationalization with programs, trips and internships, and includes three specialties in management of Projects.

The University of Navarra will offer from the next academic year 2017-18 a new Degree in programs of study of Architecture, whose novelties include a strong commitment to the internationalization and an intensification in management oriented to three mentions: management of the Creative project , management of the Urban project and management of the Technical project .

The degree program will replace the current Degree in Architecture which has a duration of 6 years and will consist of 300 credits ECTS credit spread over 5 academic courses of 60 ECTS credit each. It will also give access to the Officialdegree scroll of Master's Degree in Architecture that enables to practice the profession of Architect.

"In the process of transformation of the teaching of architecture that is being experienced in the Spanish university, the new Degree in programs of study of Architecture is an opportunity to focus the training offered by the University of Navarra to a new professional horizon, in a collaborative environment and open to an international context," says Miguel A. Alonso del Val, director of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra. 

Innovation in the teaching and access to Master's Degree enabling

Regarding the internationalization, the Study program is part of the Global Architecture Programwhich until now was offered as its own degree scroll , and offers the optional Degree in English, as well as international trips and internships.

It also highlights the incorporation of specific contents of management to the architect's own knowledge, allowing the student fill in its training through the three mentions. These, in addition to oriented elements, will have a common and transversal training on management: Personnel Management Service management business, marketing, etc. To this end, they will have the support of professors from other centers of the University of Navarra, such as the IESE or the Schools of Economics and Communication.

Another characteristic of Degree in programs of study of Architecture is innovation. The new approach involves the student in its training with the teaching by projects, many of them real thanks to the partnership with companies and institutions; the commitment to the "vertical workshop", where students from different courses work as a team in the development of projects, combining leadership and responsibility. In addition, the School has the latest technologies in the architecturelaboratory and in the digital fabrication workshop.

Finally, the new five-year degree program is complemented by a one-year qualifying Master's Degree , which incorporates to the traditional project End of degree program a specific training in professional and entrepreneurial skills. It will also include directed internships and two sites in Madrid and Pamplona. The latter is linked to stays abroad (Amsterdam, London, Mexico, etc.).
