result With 109 participants, the team from the University of Navarra has won the challenge Adidas x Parley 'Run for the Oceans' in the category of academic centers. The more than 1,550 kilometers run by students and employees will be translated into money to clean the oceans of plastic and recycle waste.
On the occasion of World Oceans Day, the sports signature Adidas and the Parley movement launched this initiative where the University of Navarra was selected to help fight ocean pollution. From June 5 to 11, through a mobile app, runners from all over the world could virtually join the degree program held on June 8 in New York.
In the University of Navarra team, the first places go to Pablo Lassa (107.1 km), student of Pharmacy; David Luquin (106.7 km), of Entrepreneurship; and Patricia Carnado (97.2 km), employee of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra.
In addition to being a student, Pablo Lassa is an athlete in the Ardoi Club and sports delegate of his School. He explains that the Adidas challenge immediately caught his attention, as it unites sport and nature for a good cause: "Sometimes we forget that environmental problems affect us all, and challenges like this one allow us to do our bit".
More than 59,000 people from all over the world participated in the challenge Adidas x Parley - 'Run for the Oceans', which totaled 578,586 kilometers.
