Hande Musullulu defends his thesis
On June 12, our PhD student Hande Musullulu defended her thesis , entitled "Uncovering Issues in ADHD: Identification and Habits". Her thesis emphasizes two important aspects of the study of ADHD: the clinical internship and the social aspects.
Its thesis is composed of three different programs of study , two systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and an exploratory review, which shed light on ADHD and its diagnosis, as well as its social implications. The largest challenge was the last study, as it is a pioneer in this field. In their own words, "a study combining ADHD and habits together had not been done before, which made the process a challenging one".
In addition, Musullulu has encountered research with that the tools used in the diagnosis of ADHD other than the clinical interview may not be 100% reliable.as well as that there are details to be considered in the diagnostic process. Individuals with ADHD, Musullulu says, have many negative consequences in their day-to-day lives that need to be further studied, and he believes that novel interventions should be developed in this field.
Musullulu's hope is that her work will help professionals and clinicians directly involved with individuals affected by ADHD to be provided with a new perspective, thus contributing to the development of a new framework of work on the global evaluation of ADHD. The researcher believes that her findings will offer a new way of understanding ADHD and create a new point of view on how we define ADHD: clinically and socially.
