The School of Architecture of the University of Navarra organizes a seminar on fire protection.

It will be given by José Torero, researcher of disasters in Building such as the Windsor Tower in Madrid or the World Trade Center in New York.

The School of Architecture of the University of Navarra is holding next Thursday and Friday, January 20 and 21, a seminar on Fire Protection aimed at students, professionals in the construction and fire area , and fire, civil protection and emergency services.

José Torero, director of high school of Infrastructure and Environment and the Building Research Establishment Centre for Fire Safety Engineering at the University of Edinburgh, will give the course. The expert has participated in the investigations of the World Trade Center in New York and the Windsor Tower in Madrid, among others.

He has also been involved in numerous projects, such as the design space shuttle hangars in Florida, the Heron Tower in London, and the Clyde and Dartford Tunnel fire safety project, for which he has received several awards and recognitions. He is the author of 20 book chapters and over 300 technical publications on a wide range of topics associated with fire safety engineering.

Participants will study fire protection engineering; evacuation, detection and alarm as part of the protection strategy; active control and extinguishing systems as a complement to the fire department response; or passive protection and the behavior of Structures in case of fire.
