The Clínica Universidad de Navarra receives the award for the private hospital with the best health reputation in Spain.
The Clínica Universidad de Navarra has received the award which recognizes it as the private hospital with the best reputation in Spain according to the I Monitor de Reputación Sanitaria endorsed by the MERCO index.
The act of submission of award took place at the headquarters of Clínica Universidad de Navarra in Madrid. Representing MERCO-MRS (Monitor Empresarial de Reputación Corporativa), the event was attended by Alfonso Garrán (director general), Pedro Arévalo (director technical), Julio Sánchez Fierro (member of committee advisor ), Dr. Jesús Álvarez (director medical) and José María San Segundo Encinar (CEO).
José Andrés Gómez Cantero, director general of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra, received the award from José María San Segundo, who described it as "a recognition of excellence based on the opinion of more than 1,000 doctors, almost 750 nurses, 430 patient associations and 208 journalists, as well as the analysis of 186 quality and healthcare performance indicators, a methodology that has been independently reviewed by the consultancy firm KPMG".
An independent gradeHe also stressed that it is a monitor that does not receive any subject from subsidy or sponsorship public or private. José María San Segundo assured that "this is the guarantee of our freedom and independence, and this is the same measure that determines the value of the award that Clínica Universidad de Navarra receives today".
Scientific advancement and patient careFor his part, on behalf of the Clinic, José Andrés Gómez considered the award "very special for coming from the colleagues themselves". The hospital's general director assured that he was grateful to "as an undeserved gift" and he received it "as a recognition of the efforts of the Clinic's professionals, whom I would like to thank for their generosity, work well done and their enthusiasm for carrying out new projects". He expressed his commitment to scientific progress and to improving patient care by declaring that "we want to be what we already are: a university hospital that generates knowledge and lives only for the patients".
During his speech he considered that the award should not serve to fall into complacency, but to stimulate all the professionals of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra to continue with "the exquisite care towards our patients. They are the ones who give meaning to our profession and who make us improve as an institution," he said, referring to the patients.
