The University turns Sports Day into an open day workshop
More than 6,000 people are expected to attend the event, which is aimed at students, employees and all citizens of Navarre.

The University of Navarra celebrates next Saturday, the 20th, the XXI edition of the Sports Day, workshop organized in partnership with La Caixa and other entities such as the Government of Navarra, the City Council of Pamplona, Coca-Cola, the Diario de Navarra and the Diario de Noticias.
Between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., several tournaments and championships will be held , as well as a cycling tour and exhibitions of sports such as kendo, taekwondo and fencing. Likewise, the congress International Oncology for Students has organized a new edition of the cross country race. There will also be Formula 1 and Moto GP simulators , table soccer, an exhibition of BMX world champions, children's theater, the traditional giant paella, a giant volleyball of the association Andevi, among other sports and solidarity activities. The event will be attended by more than 6,000 people, of which 4,000 are expected to participate in one of the many activities scheduled.
As stated in press conference Tomás Gómez-Acebo, Vice President of Alumni, "the Sports Day is open to the whole community. We want it to be a Open Day, so that everyone can come and play sports with us". work For his part, Óscar Insausti, director of Institutions of la Caixa, pointed out that "sport creates a series of very important values in society: self-improvement, teamwork, honesty and respect for others". Finally, Javier Trigo, director of the University's Sports Service , encouraged attend to go cycling and to bring out the sportsman in all of us.
Solidarity and sustainability, the protagonists of the workshopSolidarity and sustainability will be present in several activities. There will be a giant volleyball, whose goal is"to raise money to help those women who want to have children and cannot take care of them," said Trigo.
With the Sports Day we want to promote the existence of a sustainable campus and everyone who cycles down to the sports center of the University will be able to have their bike checked and repaired free of charge, as well as various gifts (a T-shirt and a welcome pack with some details for the bike). The Sports Day wants to add to the mobility Week that is being organized at the University.
The workshop will also feature the performance of Banana Blues Band, group musical students of the University, which will make the end of the party with the submission awards around seven o'clock in the evening.
