A student of the School of Architecture wins the third 'Tomás Belzunegui' award

Organized by the Navarra Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology, the awards aim to promote, motivate and disseminate the positive image of the elderly in society.

Clara Purroy, a second year student of Degree in Architecture at the University of Navarra, has won the third 'Tomás Belzunegui' 2011 award , in the modality story. The award is endowed with 200 € and will be published in the Journal Cuadernos Gerontológicos. 

Talking, smiling and giving kissesby Clara Purroy, is a text written in the form of a letter that a 15-year-old girl addresses to herself in a distant moment of old age. The jury valued "the positive and vitalistic tone of the narrative, the message of facing life contemplating and valuing the happiness that comes from the small, staff and everyday, as well as the careful essay of the story".

These awards are organized by the Navarra Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology with the aim of promote, motivate and disseminate the positive image of the elderly in society. At the same time, it aims to pay tribute to Tomás Belzunegui, creator and promoter in 1980 of the Geriatrics Service of the Hospital de Navarra. The submission took place at the Pamplona City Hall at position of the Mayor, Enrique Maya, graduate of the School of Architecture of campus.
