Historian Beatriz Comella Gutiérrez recently participated in an interview on UNED radio, where she shared details about the book she coordinated together with researcher and professor at the University of Navarra, Mercedes Montero.

The work, entitled Sororidad. Redes de financial aid entre mujeres en los siglos XIX y XX, is part of the project of research, represents a significant contribution to project of research "Género, percepciones y expansión del Opus Dei en la España franquista, 1939-1962".

Throughout its pages, the participating authors explore in detail the networks of sorority among women throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, offering valuable insights into the dynamics of sorority. They also address theories, interpretations and narratives, along with examples of mutual support among women in Europe, Africa and the Americas during the contemporary era.
During the interview, Beatriz Comella Gutiérrez pointed out that the term "sorority" has a definition according to the Royal Academy of the Spanish language , which conceptualizes it as a grouping formed by friendship and reciprocity among women who share a common ideal and actively collaborate to achieve shared goals.

This perspective provides a clear and concise framework to understand the essence of sorority, underlining the importance of partnership and solidarity among women in the achievement of collective goals that allowed them to overcome wars and injustices, misunderstandings and suffering. These interactions have made it possible to weave networks and support various initiatives, as well as to share ideals that have made it possible to achieve common goals.
