Rubén Pereda, the new Associate Dean the Ecclesiastical School of Philosophy
He replaces Professor José Manuel Giménez Amaya at position .
The Vice Chancellor the University of Navarra, Mr. Ramón Herrando, has appointed Associate Dean the Ecclesiastical School of Philosophy . He succeeds position José Manuel Giménez-Amaya, who will continue with his teaching and research duties.
Professor Pereda holds graduate a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the School of Humanities and Social Sciences the University of Navarra, as well as a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross. He joined the Ecclesiastical School of Philosophy September 2013, where he teaches the History of Modern Philosophy. Since 2014, he has served as director programs of study the Faculty, a role he will continue to fulfill. He also teaches courses in the Degrees the Schools and in the Master’s in Philosophy at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
His research has focused on modern and contemporary metaphysics, with special interest in Leibniz and the analytical Philosophy ; he is the author of two books: Necessity. Genesis and Scope of the Notion in Leibniz's Modal Metaphysical Thought and The Natural Theology of Barry Miller, and of different book chapters and articles in specialized journals.
