The Chair of Heritage and Navarrese Art of the University of Navarra has published the book "Jewelry in Navarra. 1550 - 1900". Written by Professor Ignacio Miguéliz, manager of Collection and Curatorial of the Museum of the University of Navarra, the volume collects and analyzes some of the jewelry made by local masters, as well as the pieces that arrived in Navarra over four centuries, thanks to the mobility of works, designs and silversmiths between Spain, Europe and America.

The book includes pieces preserved both in the ecclesiastical sphere and in public and private collections. As Miguéliz has pointed out, among all of them "three sets stand out for their importance and exceptionality: the pieces of the Virgen del Sagrario of the Cathedral of Pamplona, the Drawing Book of the silversmiths of Pamplona (1691-1832), and the collection of the violinist Pablo Sarasate, of the City Council of Pamplona".

Sponsored by the Government of Navarra, the presentation will take place on Wednesday, November 21, at 7:30 p.m., in the sacristy of the church of San Saturnino in Pamplona. The event, which is free attendance, will be attended by Juan Manuel Mora, Vice President of Communication at the University of Navarra; Ricardo Fernández-Gracia, director of the Chair of Heritage and Navarrese Art; and the author of the book, who will also give a lecture on jewelry in Navarra.

Ignacio Miguéliz is graduate in Geography and History from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and PhD in Philosophy and Letters from the University of Navarra. Since 2006, he has been working as Curator of the Museo Universidad de Navarra. Professor of the department of History of Art in the associated center of the UNED in Pamplona, his lines of study are photography, silverware and jewelry.

Once the event is over, the work will be available at available at the following link and will be available at download in digital version.
