Renaissance and Baroque artists discuss their work at the university
It is a project of innovation professor of the School of Philosophy and Letters.

The painters Sofonisba Anguissola, Lavinia Fontana, Artemisia Gestileschi and Clara Peeters, who came directly from the Italian and Flemish Renaissance and Baroque periods, have held a meeting at meeting at the School of Philosophy y Letras of the University of Navarra, coinciding with the 202nd anniversary of the opening of the Museo Nacional del Prado.
Moderated by Professor Javier Azanza, the artists talked about their family origins, their artistic training and their style staff, or the obstacles they encountered in their professional careers due to their feminine condition and their relationship with other artists of their time. The promoters of their works and the protagonists of their most significant paintings were also present at quotation , and even renowned specialists in art history came to the University to judge their work.
All of them have been brought to life by the thirty students of the subject "Renaissance, Baroque and Enlightenment in Europe", belonging to the Degrees of History; History and Journalism; History and International Office and Humanities of the School of Philosophy and Letters. The activity, coordinated by Professor Javier Azanza and approved as project of Innovation professor for the academic year 2021-22, advances in the line of making visible the role of women in art, while allowing the development of different active methodologies in the classroom.
