The University launches a pioneering Master's Degree in Religious Sciences in Spain.
The new ISCR program will have three specialties: Marriage and Family, Institutional Church Communication, and Bioethics and Pastoral Health Care.
The high school Superior of Religious Sciences (ISCR) of the University of Navarra has launched a Master's Degree in Religious Sciences with three specialties: Marriage and Family, Institutional Communication of the Church, and Bioethics and Pastoral Care of Health. The program, a pioneer in Spain, combines face-to-face classes with a distance learning system, and has the support of partnership of various Schools of the University of Navarra: Philosophy and Letters, Medicine, Sciences, Communication...
These new plans of programs of study, incorporated into the European Higher Education Area Education , are in addition to the current academic programs of the ISCR: the high school diploma in Religious Sciences, which has been offered since 1997 - formerly diploma program and licentiate degree- and which has also been adapted to the Bologna Plan.
The programs, which are aimed at people from a variety of social and professional backgrounds, "represent a new stage for high school," explains José Manuel Fidalgo, Deputy Director of the ISCR.
Parents, religion teachers, catechists and Christian educators, communication professionals, health professionals, etc.," he adds. -will be able to access, in a simple but highly qualified academic and scientific way, a systematic and professional study of the Christian faith and its application in a wide range of professional areas".
Nearly 200 graduates from all over Spain
About 200 people from all over Spain have been diploma holder and graduate in Religious Sciences at the ISCR of the University of Navarra in the last thirteen years, and more than 2,000 people have attended the update theological courses organized by the center for professionals of the Christian training , teachers and catechists.
"Most of our students are professionals with degree program who want to make their work and their family compatible with a distance programs of study with doctrinal soundness. They are looking for a serious Christian training , of university level, with full fidelity to the Magisterium of the Church," says José Manuel Fidalgo.
