congress International "Religious freedom and today's world. 50 years of Dignitatis Humanae".

On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the declaration of the Second Vatican Council Dignitatis humanae, on religious freedom, on November 19 and 20, 2015 will be held at the University of Navarra, campus of Pamplona, an international and interdisciplinary congress , organized by the group of research in Recent History(GIHRE), in partnership with the Schools of Philosophy and Letters, Law, Theology, and Canon Law.

This congress aims to reflect on various aspects related to the history of freedom of belief in the 20th century and up to the present day, such as the evolution of the concept of religious freedom in different legal systems and in the Catholic world, the reception of Dignitatis humanae in Catholic society and in general, the current challenges of religious freedom in countries of Christian tradition, the relationship of religious freedom with related concepts such as tolerance, secularization, confessionalism, secularism or laicism, as well as its interaction with Education and peace, among others.

In addition to the papers submitted to the open call (pdf), several presentations will be given by leading academics such as José Luis Soberanes(UNAM, Mexico), Philippe Nemo(ESC, Paris), María Roca(UCM, Madrid), Philippe Chenaux(Pontifical Lateran University) and Silvia Scatena(University of Modena).
