La Universidad de Navarra reúne en San Sebastián a medio centenar de jóvenes ingenieros en unas jornadas sobre materiales
The University of Navarra brings together fifty young engineers in San Sebastian at conference on materials.
They are organized by CEIT and Tecnun-Escuela de Ingenieros, and are aimed at final year students and doctoral students.
Fifty doctors and scholarship holders from different European institutions will participate this week in the III meeting of Young Researchers in Europe, organized by CEITThe event is organized by Tecnun-Escuela de Ingenieros de la Universidad de Navarra, at partnership , with funding from Kutxa and the Basque Government. They will focus on the latest advances related to materials in their various applications: aerospace, optics, steels, biomaterials...
The meeting, which will take place between 21 and 23 October at the Miramón Technology Park, aims to make university students in their final years of study aware of the scientific research as an attractive and relevant job opportunity for the technological development . In fact, one of the priority objectives of the meeting will be the study of new formats to encourage the research in the current generations of university students, as well as to establish a link between the social relevance of science and responsibility staff.
The University of Navarra scientist Noemí Pérez, organizer of the event, explains that this is the third workshop to be held since group of 10 researchers from Spain, Germany and Austria shared their concerns during a congress. The previous editions were held in Alicante (thanks to a scholarship Mario Benedetti) and Huelva (organized by the University of Huelva).
"We sought to develop joint projects, disseminate the virtues of research, eliminate clichés and take away the fear of students and doctoral students, promoting their approach to the world of research. Our idea was to create a network of contacts at the European level," he says. In addition to this initiative, group produces publications, internships and exchanges.
