The U.S. specialist gave classes and sessions for researchers and students of the School of Pharmacy of the University of Navarra.
Sally Ann Lederman, expert in Nutrition and professor at the Institute of Human Nutrition of Columbia University (New York, USA) offered a lecture and gave a class of the subject Nutrition and Health, of the School of Pharmacy of the University of Navarra.
The specialist discussed with the students of Degrees of Pharmacy and Human Nutrition and Dietetics the results of the work she is carrying out with her team at area on obesity and pregnancy. In this regard, the American professor recalled that there are many problems associated with excess weight in pregnancy, such as increased hypertension, gestational diabetes, increased defects in the neural tube of the fetus, in its heart, etc.
The expert also starred in a seminar for members of the department of Food Science, Physiology and Toxicology of the School of Pharmacy on one of her articles, graduate "Relation between Cord Blood Mercury Levels and Early Child Development in a World Trade Center Cohort" and published in Environmental Health Perspectives.
