University students to provide psycho-social counseling at the Youth House
Students of Pedagogy and Psychopedagogy will advise young people in Navarre on issues of work, Education or free time.
The University of Navarra signed a agreement with the Youth House of Pamplona for twelve students of Pedagogy and Psychopedagogy to do internships in the Information Office of the youth center during this academic year. The students will work in the Psycho-Social Orientation Service, advising young people from Navarre on issues of Education -such as courses, contests or scholarships- European programs and also on labor, social or leisure time issues.
The agreement was signed by Maite Mur, councilwoman delegate of Education, Sports and Youth of the City Council of Pamplona; Carmen Saralegui, dean of the School of Philosophy and Letters; José Ramón Iriarte, of Sedena; and José Luis de Cea, director General Manager of the Foundation business-University of Navarra.
Approach to professional practiceThe agreement aims to bring students closer to their future professional practice. "It is a very enriching experience that complements their theoretical training as counselors, offering them the opportunity to perform direct care, to participate and get involved in team meetings, as well as to write reports or perform field work such as visits, interviews, etc.," said Olga Lizasoain, coordinator of the Practicum of department of Education of the University of Navarra.
