The University, ranked fourth in Spain according to THE World University Rankings 2027

THE World University Rankings ranks the University of Navarra as the fourth-best university in Spain and the top private institution. In its 2027 edition, the university ranks 275th in the world, tied with another university, placing it above 88% of the universities included in this ranking, which analyzes nearly 2,300 universities from 118 countries.

The ranking evaluates university performance based on 18 indicators, grouped into research teaching, quality of research, excellence of the research, industry connections, and international outlook. According to the British consulting firm that compiles the ranking, Times Higher Education, the University of Navarra’s main strengths lie in its industry connections ( research from industry, and patents), where it ranks first in Spain. It also excels in international outlook (international students and faculty, and co-authorship) and the quality of the “ research ” (academic citations), in which it ranks as the fourth-best university in the country. It also ranks fifth in excellence of the research environment researcher and sixth in Spain in “ teaching.”

According to Paloma Grau, Vice President of research and Sustainability at the University of Navarra, “being ranked first in Spain for our connection with industry reflects our mission statement as a university: to provide new solutions to businesses and society through our research so that they can serve as true catalysts for change.” The university’s result in the global rankings, as indicated by Vice President, “encourages us to continue improving the excellence of the University of Navarra’s teaching, research , and technology transfer.”
