The Nemesio Diez Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to the Program Alumni Scholarships at the University of Navarra by signature signing an addendum to the partnership agreement agreement signed by both institutions. In the framework of this agreement agreement, the Foundation is expanding its support through the training for students in theDegree medical program by awarding up to 24 scholarships over the next six years.
The academic center hosted the formal signing ceremony for the “ signature,” signed by Joaquín Vázquez, General director of the Nemesio Diez Foundation, and Igor Errasti, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs ( Administrator ) at the University of Navarra. On this occasion, the University presented the Foundation with a commemorative plaque as a token of appreciation ( submission ) for its commitment to the “ Alumni Scholarships ” program.
During the ceremony, Igor Errasti praised the contribution made: “The University and the Nemesio Diez Foundation share a com mission statement s to educate students with talent and strong values.” In this regard, he expressed his gratitude for this support, “as it sets in motion a cycle of solidarity among grateful scholarship recipients, who, driven by a spirit of service, will one day be called upon to help new scholarship recipients. For this reason, I thank you on behalf of the University, the current scholarship recipients, and the scholarship recipients of the future.”
For his part, Joaquín Vázquez also wished to express his gratitude and confidence in both the University and the students receiving scholarships from the Nemesio Diez Foundation ( scholarship ) who attended the event: “We thank you for your commitment, for your calling, and for your spirit of service. At the Nemesio Diez Foundation, we want you to be saints, to seek a way of life that embodies medicine—to understand life, to defend people, to help those in need—and to always be of service to society.”
Next, Marta Ferrer, dean of the School of Medicine, highlighted the students’ contributions and their “ training ” at the University: “In the Faculty, we aim to train humanistic physicians who care for patients beyond the ‘ enquiry ’ and who build a relationship of trust with them similar to the one the Foundation has established with us. In that sense, we share the same purpose to attract talent and instill values in our students. That is why supporting students like those who will receive these scholarships means investing in the patients they will care for in the future—who will ultimately benefit from this generosity.”
To conclude the ceremony, Almudena Lucas, a second-year medical student at the Degree and the first scholarship recipient of the Nemesio Díez Foundation, expressed her deep gratitude to the Foundation: “I feel deeply honored to have received this scholarship. For me, it has been a gift. This scholarship allows me to study medicine at the University of Navarra, fulfilling a dream that I otherwise probably would have had to give up.”
