The School of Nursing a workshop raise awareness among more than 370 schoolchildren about alcohol and tobacco use
On April 13 and 14, it organized an workshop alcohol and tobacco use among young people, attended by 371 first-year Education students from four schools in Pamplona

The activity, part of theCommunity Nursing II subject , was designed and organized by 30 second-year students in Degree NursingDegree , who served as health educators in a real-world setting. The initiative goal allow students internship skills they have learned in the classroom, while helping to promote healthy lifestyle habits among adolescents.
During the conference, the students participated in an active pathway organized into three stations. At the first station, a nightlife setting was recreated to encourage reflection on alternatives for having fun without alcohol, supplemented by real-life accounts of the consequences of alcohol use. The second station allowed students to experience, using simulation goggles, the effects of alcohol and other substances on coordination and perception. Finally, students visited an informational area where they learned about the impact of tobacco, including carbon monoxide testing in exhaled air, and participated in interactive activities to debunk myths and reinforce their knowledge.
As Professor María Lavilla, subject manager , explained, “This subject allows nursing students to gain firsthand experience Education promotion and Education , while making a real impact on the community.” She also highlighted the importance of emotional awareness as core topic element core topic fostering greater awareness among young people.
The workshop part of the classroom initiatives of the School of Nursing and reflects the University’s commitment to itsinternship training and the improvement of community health.
