Excellence Program students visit companies and institutions in Madrid

During three days the students of School of Economics participated in lectures and conferences on leadership in different business and institutional environments.

From May 20 to 22, the students of the University of Navarra's School of Economics students of the University of Navarra, who are part of the Excellence Program, had the opportunity to visit different companies and institutions in Madrid.  

visit The conference began with a guided tour of the congress of the Deputies by the UPN deputy Carlos Salvador. After showing the students the hemicycle and the routines of the deputies, they participated in a session on the functioning of the Chamber leave to position of the former deputy and lawyer of congress Ignacio Astarloa. Then the PSOE deputy Ignacio Urquizu and the PP deputy Guillermo Mariscal broke down some of the disruptive elements in current politics that push for the renewal of the party system. The students then went to the facilities of the IESE Business School. IESE Business School. Waiting for them there was Cristina Sádaba, Executive Director of the Center for Public Leadership and Government. Sádaba spoke about IESE's commitment to the training of human capital in the public sphere. The students then participated in a lecture to position by IESE Professor Santiago Álvarez de Mon, who shed light on the concept and praxis of leadership with a high dose of wit and realism.

In the afternoon the students completed the program with the visit to the Joaquín Rodrigo Auditorium, where they were received by the founder and director of the Orquesta Filarmonía, Elena Menor, and by the solo percussionist of the Orquesta Nacional de España and director of the Orquesta Filarmonía, Pascual Osa, who introduced them to the challenges presented by the management of the first private orchestra in Spain and the direction of a large group of people in such a technically demanding field.

The last day was dedicated to the world of fashion and the luxury industry with a visit al ISEM Business Fashion School. Its director, Teresa Sádaba, received the students together with María Marín-Montalvo, ISEM alumna and Woman Purchasing Director at Scalpers, who explained to the students the different demands of the labor market and the potential of Fast Fashion. As a final climax, the students of the Excellence Program visited the Loewe House where they were able to appreciate the new line of design currently being developed by the iconic brand.
