Irene Abaurrea, MDPO student, will be the first to take the internship for four months
University students will be able to carry out summer internships at Decathlon following a agreement agreement signed between the sports equipment company business and Career Services of the academic center.
Irene Abaurrea, a student of the Master's Degree in Personnel Management Service and Organizations (MDPO) of the School of Economics, will be the first student to join the Decathlon staff with this internship, which lasts four months.
"I like it because I will be able to work on many of the points that made me sign up for Master's Degree: communication, empathy, work in a team, leadership, business strategy, profit and loss accounts...", explains Irene Abaurrea, who will start working in the store in April and in June, the internship.
"I met them at the Career Forum," recalls the MDPO student, "and one of the things I liked most about them is that they accompany you, because they work as if business itself were a sport, with goals and as a team.
The signature of this internship agreement contributes to building bridges between talent and the business. "In addition to training, they can undertake a professional degree program ," explains the director of the Decathlon store in Pamplona, Luis Moro, who emphasizes the importance that the brand attaches to internal promotion.
Decathlon is one of the leading companies in the sale and distribution of sports equipment, a subsidiary of the French group Mulliez, which currently employs more than 70,000 people. The profile is looking for young people with "a passion for sports; proactive, with interest and initiative; and capable of taking on responsibilities," said Luis Moro.
