Iñigo Resa, student of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra, has been awarded by Telefónica for the best reflection based on the statement "The digital home of the XXI century". The student received a laptop from Roberto Mercero, director of the company in Navarra.

The winning proposal implements OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) technologies so that the interior enclosures of the homes, that is, the walls separating the spaces, act as communication screens for the Username of the home with friends, family, etc.

"We have awarded this work because it was the one that responded to the starting budgets in the most appropriate way, combining them with the employment of a technology applied to a home in a more innovative way and without forgetting the constructive requirements to carry it out," said César Martín Gómez, professor of the subject design of Installations.

University proposals on research and development

During the first semester of academic year 2009-2010, Telefónica and the University of Navarra held conversations in which the multinational company showed its interest in learning about new proposals, designs and hypotheses of work developed by architecture students to propose the digital home of the coming decades.

Iñigo Resa's work , as well as those of the six finalists -Pilar Bértolo, Guillem Boleda, Iñigo Oregui, Xabier Ramos, Iñigo Resa and Nuria Tomás- and 16 other colleagues from the subject are eligible for a second phase so that business can evaluate their possible technical development .

In addition to Roberto Mercero, who pointed out that "Telefónica's intention is to deepen the dynamics of work to continue searching for areas of mutual partnership in the field of research and development", the event of submission was also attended by César Martín Gómez and Eduardo Domingo, from School of Architecture.
