The Vice President of Alumni and University Extension of the University of Navarra, María Iraburu, presented in London "Horizonte Universidad de Navarra. 15 projects for 2015". The event was attended by the Spanish Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Carles Casajuana. So far it had been exhibited in 14 Spanish cities and in Sao Paulo (Brazil). In addition, it will also be presented in New York.

The ambassador highlighted the role core topic that universities play as source of knowledge and innovation, especially in the current status crisis, and congratulated the University of Navarra for its commitment to internationalization and its presence in London.

The presentation in the British capital took place in the framework of an International seminar organized by the School of Economics on Systemic Risks and attended by fifty managers and entrepreneurs.

The Vice President focused on the launch of four new centers of research and the Museum of Contemporary Art.

"The research center in Neglected Diseases seeks to help countries at development and involve them in the study of the diseases that affect them, especially Chagas disease and Brucellosis. The aim is to carry out a real transfer of technology, help them in the training of researchers and establish two coordinated laboratories of research: at the University of Navarra and at the Hospital or University of the corresponding country", explained Professor Iraburu. Work is already underway with the Monkole Hospital in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the University of Reinosa (Mexico), the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and the National Veterinary Research Institute (Nigeria), among others.

"Horizonte Universidad de Navarra. 15 projects for 2015" is a plan for work that brings together an ambitious set of initiatives aimed at strengthening research, improving teaching and promoting social involvement. It also involves the creation of a business incubator and the implementation of project "Campus Sostenible", which aims to reduce energy consumption in new buildings by 50%, cut CO2 emissions by 1,872 tons, extend the bicycle lane circuit, increase bicycle parking spaces car park , pedestrianize some areas of campus and create new areas of car park in the periphery, to reduce traffic and noise.
