The University Museum of Navarra will develop from October 31 a program of art therapy, creativity and talent development aimed at families of the association of children with High Abilities of Navarra (ANAC). Through art therapy, the overcoming of difficulties is favored by stimulating the creative capacity of the person. The different activities, taught by the art therapist María José Llorente Wattenberg, expert in Creativity and Emotional management , are free of charge and have the support of Fundación La Caixa and Fundación Caja Navarra through the InnovaCultural program.

The program, which is linked to the Museum's mission statement professor , is divided into two main blocks, the talks-workshops and the art therapy workshop Exploring, knowing and enjoying our emotional galaxy. The talks-workshops are aimed at mothers and fathers of children with high abilities and are open to professionals and the general public interested in art therapy, creativity and emotional management in children with high abilities.

The first meeting will take place on Saturday, October 31, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and will explain what work consists of through art therapy with children with high abilities and will present specific cases. The second session, on December 19, at the same schedule, will address creativity and emotional management in addition to offering creative resources to work on self-esteem and self-concept. Both talks-workshops will take place at the Museum and will also be broadcast via streaming.

GROUP WORKSHOP

The art therapy workshop is aimed at children with high abilities, from 6 years old, and their families. It proposes a creative journey, an invitation to explore the emotional universe through play. In it, families will connect with their creative capacity to generate a family bond of trust and get to know each other beyond their usual roles.

The process allows for the construction of a safe and trusting space, respecting the internal rhythm of each participant, and an invitation to explore using different expressive techniques (plastic arts, writing, expression and body awareness...).

Among the objectives are to stimulate the capacity for creative thinking in families, to favor, recognize and accept the uniqueness of each one, to generate and re-signify family bonds and to foster self-esteem, empathy, trust and understanding. It will be held on Saturdays, November 7, 14, 21 and 28, from 10:30 am to 12 noon (group 1) and from 12:30 pm to 2 pm (group 2). In addition, families will have a previous session with the art therapist.
