Four graduates of the University, distinguished with National End-of-Semester Awards degree program

Two Navarrese, Asier Ullate and Mª Ángeles Sánchez-Ostiz, have won first prizes in Biochemistry and Humanities

Four graduates of the University of Navarra have been awarded by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports with the National Awards for the End of the 2011-12 academic year. degree program of Education University 2011-12, which recognize those who have completed with "greater brilliance" their higher programs of study .

They are the Navarrese Asier Ullate, graduate at Biochemistry , and Ángeles Sánchez-Ostiz, graduate at Humanities. Both were awarded a first prize of 3,300 euros, award, out of the 57 awarded.

Likewise, Carlota Salazara native of Zaragoza with a degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics; and the San Sebastian-born Ane Miren Salvadorwith a degree in Pharmacy, have won a second prize, award, consisting of 2,650 euros.

Mª Ángeles Sánchez-Ostiz, who has also studied Dietetics and Nutrition and Teaching, is a teacher at high school Miravalles-El Redín. A short story writer, her work Cuentacuenúmeros was awarded a prize in 2006 by the Government of Navarra. She assures that the award National End of degree program is, among other things, a recognition "to the teachers and the master classes she had at Humanities".

After finishing his programs of study in Biology and Biochemistry , Asier Ullate obtained a scholarship from the Government of Navarra to study a Master's Degree in Bioinformatics and data analysis at the University of Geneva, where he is currently studying doctorate. Regarding award, he agrees with Mª Ángeles Sánchez-Ostiz on the good fortune of having good teachers and colleagues from class: "They have had a great influence", he says.

Carlota Salazar, Resident Internal Pharmacist at Hospital Clínic i Provincial de Barcelona, hopes that this award "will serve as financial aid when making degree program at a professional level, taking into account the competitiveness that we face today in the labor market".

Finally, Ane Miren Salvador, who works at Tufts Medical Center in the U.S., assures that this is a "recognition of the effort made" as well as an "incentive to continue working hard" for her personal and professional goals.
