Power, government, authority. The healthy condition of political life is the new book by Montserrat Herrero, full professor of Philosophy Moral and Politics at the University of Navarra and principal investigator of project 'Religion and Civil Society' of Institute for Culture and Society (ICS). The Issue has been published by the publishing house of the Centro de programs of study Políticos y Constitucionales, one of the best publishers of scientific literature in Spain according to programs of study of the group EC3 of the University of Granada and the group of research on the Academic Book of the CSIC.

The book addresses the understanding and theoretical distinction of three signifiers that in common language are used almost interchangeably: power, government and authority. In this search for conceptual clarity, the author brings to light a criterion of political correctness: only when the spheres of authority and power are institutionally distinguished, understood respectively as socially recognized knowledge and socially recognized power, and power conforms to authority, does healthy government become possible, that is, the peaceful coexistence of a people in freedom.

The work seeks how to articulate institutionally a healthy political life. In the development of this idea are given quotation relevant issues for politics as the specificity of the political, its relationship with violence, political legitimacy, sovereignty and the possibilities of democracy in a multicultural society.

Montserrat Herrero is the author of other books of Philosophy Política such as The Political Discourse of Carl Schmitt. A Mystic of Order (2015), The Revolutionary Politics of John Locke (2015), or Political Fictions. The Thomas Hobbes Echo in the Twilight of Modernity (2012), among others. Since 2014 she has been the editor of the journal yearbook Filosófico.
