From February 22 to April 10, the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid is exhibiting a retrospective sample of the work and the Philosophy of work of the Navarrese architect Francisco Mangado. Visitors to this exhibition will be able to get to know the degree program of the professor at the University of Navarra through his work. School of Architecture of the University of Navarra through models of architectural projects and competitions, various samples of materials and a series of drawings of design industrial.

The sample is curated by Ariadna Cantis and is located at conference room Juana Mordó. According to Juan Miguel Hernández León, architect and president of the Círculo de Bellas Artes, in the prologue to the publication that accompanies exhibition, "Patxi knows very well that the architect's work does not unfold in a vacuum, but is subject to constant negotiation, both on a theoretical level and in daily praxis, where social, political and economic actors play a determining role".

Biography

Francisco Mangado is an architect by the technical school of Architecture of the University of Navarra, where he has worked as a professor since 1982. Since June 2008 he has been promoting the Fundación Arquitectura y Sociedad, and at the same time he works as an architect from his studio in Pamplona. His work includes the Pamplona Conference Center and Auditorium, the Vitoria Archaeology Museum, the Spanish Pavilion for the Zaragoza Expo, the Palma de Mallorca Conference Center and the Palencia soccer field. His designs of objects and furniture and his architectural projects combine modernity and tradition and are open to references of contemporary architecture, a certain lyrical abstraction and constructive realism.
