María Ibáñez, a graduate in Engineering from Building and researcher at School of Architecture, has been recognized with a runner-up prize in the National End of Degree Awards degree program awarded by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.

Under the degree scroll "Characterization and construction of an active façade enclosure with Peltier cells", his work is based on the design of an active façade enclosure of very high performance that incorporates a thermoelectric air conditioning system. The practical purpose of his research is that this enclosure is built and monitored to assess its performance and responsiveness to real situations and evaluate potential energy savings.

The work is directed by Professors José Antonio Sacristán and César Martín Gómez and subsidized by the Programa Estatal de research and development+i Orientada a los Retos de la Sociedad (Proyectos research and development Retos-research) of the Ministerio de Economics y Competitividad. María Ibáñez has a scholarship from the association de Amigos de la Universidad de Navarra for her research.
