Jonas Achacoso, who holds a doctorate in Canon Law from the University of Navarra, has been appointed Judicial Vicar attachment of the Diocese of Brooklynand full member Interdiocesan Vicar of the ecclesiastical province of New York, USA.

Born in Zamboanga (Philippines) on April 18, 1973, he was ordained a priest in 2000. He studied high school diploma Theology degree at the School of Theology at the University of Navarra and later licentiate degree at the same academic center. Canon Law at the same academic center.

On June 27, 2011 defended the doctoral thesis , which carries by degree scroll: 'The Issuance of Administrative Acts. A study on the pertinent Common Norms in Canon Law'. It was directed by Professor Jorge Miras and obtained the grade of A cum laude.
