Esteban Morrás and Miguel Ángel Adán, from the Navarre startup Veridas, presented to the students of seminar ThinkTech how artificial intelligence is used for digital identity verification. Both professionals have explained internship how this Navarrese business , a joint creation between BBVA and Das-Nano, validates millions of identities daily through facial, voice and document recognition technologies.
According to them, these solutions are advancing rapidly around the world and prevent identity theft problems associated with paperwork. They detailed that they are currently present in sectors such as banking, energy and utilities and will soon be part of most security and identification processes in places such as sports venues and airports.
The students have had the opportunity to reflect and discuss with them some aspects associated with this sector, such as privacy of data, algorithmic biases, the responsibility linked to the Education of Username in these technologies and ethical issues associated with hypervigilance.
